The Tsunami of Light
Hello friends. I hope you are holding onto your hats and doing ok in these times of great change?
Today I want to share my latest metaphor for what is happening in my life and I believe for the whole world this year.
When there is a large underwater earthquake, the disturbance deep in the ocean causes a strange effect on the beaches and coastline.
The water retreats away from the land, further than it’s ever retreated before.
It’s like the ultimate low tide.
Everything that was normally hidden by the water is exposed in the sunlight. All the rocks, the abandoned supermarket trolleys, old ship wrecks are all suddenly revealed. Then of course the tsunami wave comes along and covers it all up again and surges inland.
It occurred to me today that this is what is happening on our planet right now, except it’s not a surge of water, its a surge of Light.
This coronavirus pandemic is exposing and uncovering all that is normally out of sight or maybe it was like rock just sticking up above the surface, but now it’s all exposed. The pandemic is accelerating a process of change that is already underway.
On an individual level, this lockdown has revealed to us some of the crazy ways in which we live in the western world, which we only notice when we are told we can’t live how we normally live.
We are all seeing how the way we live and consume effects the environment.
The skies are clearer.
The cities are less polluted.
The rivers are clearer.
Even Venice has dolphins in the Grand Canal!
On a personal level, the lockdown has had a profound effect on me. It’s exposed those unconscious aspects of my character that have been silently making me repeat the same relationship mistakes.
As the tide has gone out, I have really seen clearly what my childhood programming is doing for me. Not all of my programming is unhelpful. My self-belief and confidence in abundance has helped me enormously in my business career. But a lack of self-love and a feeling of needing to rescue people to feel loved and appreciated has not been all that helpful in my adult intimate relationships.
But lockdown has exposed the unconscious behaviour with such clarity. The people I am closest to have mirrored back what I have not been seeing in the past. I am super grateful to my close family and friends for helping me to see more clearly and to give me the opportunity now to heal.
If you can see it, you can heal it.
I am really good at reversing trailers behind a car, but only if I can clearly see the trailer! If I can’t see the trailer, it’s almost impossible to reverse safely!
Seeing our childhood programming is the same. If you can’t see it, it’s almost impossible to heal and move forward, but once you see it clearly, once you have the ‘ah hah’ moment, you can’t un-see it. Healing can then begin.
On a global scale, looking at what is happening with the demonstrations around the world in the wake of the George Floyd death, the tide is out further than it’s ever been and people want real, long-lasting change.
I also think it’s also made us all look at the effect our way of living is having on the planet’s health. It took an invisible virus to lock us into our homes for us to see the truth about the way we treat Mother Earth.
These are momentous times.
So from an energetic perspective I see a Tsunami of Light is sweeping across the world in 2020, the like of which has never been seen before on this planet.
All the old broken ways are being exposed, in the raw, so that they can be healed. The Light is dismantling old systems of control. Thank God.
The people that find themselves in charge of these old systems are understandably scared. They are clinging on for dear life, just like people do up a tree as the tsunami wave comes in. The past seems comfortable and familiar, but a new paradigm is waiting just around the corner for our human family and all living things on the Earth.
So what do we do?
We go with the flow.
We rise above it all.
We make sure we stay on the surface, which means keeping our personal vibrations as high as we can. Practicing self-care, self-love, self-forgiveness, as well as caring for, loving others and forgiving others, all act like energetic buoyancy aids. They keep us afloat.
We can’t save anyone else if we are drowning. That’s why we have to look after ourselves first and when we are safe and confident, we can be life-rafts for others who are not finding this process easy. Life-rafts of support. Light-houses to lead the way.
So my friends, trust in the Light. Trust in change. Let go of the old and welcome in the new.
Let this Tsunami of Light clear away the old systems of fear, control and division, to welcome in a new era of love, inclusion and unity.
I will leave you with one of my favourite quotes from Joseph Campbell.
‘We must let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the one that is waiting for us’.
Keep floating and hoping . . .
Much love
