Enjoy!!

I want to share with you probably one of the most simple and yet profound bits of advice that the Universe has ever given me.

I was driving in my car yesterday and as I often do, I’m saying my gratitude prayers to God/the Universe for this life experience. And then a simple question popped into my head which was this: I asked my higher self “how should I live my life?”. The answer was immediate and so clear.

“Enjoy”.

My higher self doesn’t waste words, clearly! “Enjoy”. What a brilliant and simple piece of advice for all of us to remember.

It’s so easy to take life too seriously and to think that we are meant to struggle and almost to feel guilty if we’re enjoying ourselves!

So this makes everything very simple. Are we doing things that we enjoy doing? If not, why are we doing it?!

We are having this experience in these human bodies on this beautiful planet for who knows how long. We never know what is around the next corner. So there is no point doing things that we don’t enjoy. It’s a waste of time. It’s a waste of life.

So whatever I do in life from now on, I’m just going to ask myself that simple question. Am I enjoying myself?

It’s going to be my guiding compass from now on.

Do I enjoy writing books for children? Yes. Do I enjoy reading them to the children at schools? Yes. Do I enjoy spending time with my family? Very much yes. Do I enjoy my home? Yes, so I will stay where I live. Do I enjoy spending lots of money on a big boat?! No, because I don’t enjoy feeling under financial stress. Do I enjoy working within my budget? Yes, definitely!

You can ask yourself the same questions about your life and see what the answers are. You might be quite shocked at the answers that you get. The first answer that comes into your mind, whether it’s a yes or a no, is the right answer. That’s the truth. Go with that. You might need to be brave and change things in your life but you will look back and wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
